Honestly it would've made more sense for it to be Steel/Ghost and have a Grass-type Steelworker ability instead.

It's Grass because of how it extends its anchor chains in a Vine Whip-like manner. If it weren't Grass Type it wouldn't make sense to use the Vine Whip chains idea......they should have made it a wood anchor instead of a steel one. Wood anchors are a thing

That's just your fucking opinion. Algae grows all over everything, so the idea of a ghost algae poltergeisting some ship wreckage is actually pretty cool.

If it were just haunted ship parts, how the fuck would that justify the integration of the algae into itself as a meaningful part of its design?

If anything, the Ghost typing is the most pointless type of it. It could’ve just been a normal seaweed Pokémon holding ship parts together and Grass/Water or Grass/Steel instead of weird “ghost of seaweed” which is the only part that signals it’s a ghost. It’s a lot more unique than possessed object 25

Why did GF suddenly decide to rush out grass/ghost types? For the most part they seemed pretty conservative with it, releasing only a unique ghost duel type every so often.
Then gen 6 hits with two ghost grass types and they threw in another.
