>>48072753I remember seeing Harrison's Blaziken for the first time when the anime was wrapping up the Johto saga. My first thought was exactly that I thought that it was some kinda legendary. When my friends got Ruby/Sapphire I was surprised that Torchic evolved into it and it felt out of place keep in mind my family still didn't have an internet connection.
Now I know what it's based on and I know that it was created as a separate mon after a legendary combing it and Latias was scrapped and they split them into two different mons.
