Why no following Pokemon Legends Arceus

Give me one (ONE) good reason why we don't get following partner Pokemon in Arceus.
They always leave behind his key mechanic just to repackage it in a remake or an expansion as a carrot on a stick.

Because battles start when you throw your pokeball near a wild pokemon. Aggressive pokemon attack the trainer until you send out a pokemon yourself, so if your pokemon was following you the entire time, it would mess with this mechanic.

You also sneak up on a lot of pokemon in the tall grass. If you had anything large like a Garchomp or Rhydon following you, this wouldn't really be subtle.

i admit those crucial factors did cross my mind, and they're really the only valid excuse (immersion).
That being said, your partner could stay passive or hide with you. I think you can bend the realism in your favour for the sake of this fan fave mechanic.

This would be nice, could be done if GF were willing to animate "stealth" walking animations for all the pokemon. Definitely wouldn't expect that from them anytime soon

The most realistic expectation is that they can follow you in non-hostile areas, like camps or towns. Unfortunately Im not counting on this, so hopefully that "camping" option we saw is somewhat interactive

Why would it have to be limited tho? You can spountaneously take Pokémon out of the balls, which means that once they get out they follow you everywhere.
Idk about the camp one, seems like a function where they just sit and take a picture, but I might be wrong

Legends Arceus seems like it has a pretty different movement system from any other modern Pokémon game, I doubt it's anywhere near as simple of a job as you're claiming. You can't always just copy and paste code and have it work universally.

Meh, imho I don't see the correlation between having Pokémon following you in just villages instead also in the wild.
They did this with SWSH in the 2 DLCs, they tested it out and they're probably gonna be with you anywhere

This may be the case, but I'd say a good compromise is some key Pokemon are able to follow you or have overworld interactions. Given the setting of this game, it would actually make more sense for Pokemon to follow rather than remain in balls however,

The character moves and the Pokémon model just approaches the character one at the same or so speed with the trainer trajectory.
They could reuse Sword and Shield code or in extremely just tweak it.
The problem would have been animations made for all Pokémon, but since that they've already been made, then it's easily implement it

we saw the trainer sitting by all their pokemon in the trailer so that hints to pokemon being sent out outside of battle, they could just have the pokeball be a targeting device so that even if your pokemon is already out you have to throw the empty pokeball to battle, they also made new sitting aanimations for pokemon like ursaring and a turning animation for ponyta so they are adding animations that the feel are necessary

Guys, the probability that following Pokémon are gonna be in the games are much higher than the reverse.
They outsourced all that animation work just to be thrown away? These are universal animations that are gonna be used in any game that involves Pokémon overworld interaction and THIS in particular is THAT game.
We had following Pokémon for the dumbest shit, I think we're gonna have it here where the big thing is

Unfortunately I can see the retard devs not including it instead of being able to turn it on and off if it breaks the immersion for the stupid sneaking and throwing techniques for a player so much. Especially since bdsp has nothing else going for it.

dismissing it as "superficial" is stupid considering this is a videogame (one that's not even competitive).
The assets and animations are already present and with barely any new Pokemon being designed, the majority of the work is already present from previous games.
I think if there's one RPG element that many players love is seeing their party in the game. A player's favourite out of a vast selection of monsters really manages to personalize the gaming experience and makes you bond with the partner and the game.
I think that with HG/SS's extreme success, they'll continue to just use this as an incentive that's repackaged for remakes and expansions when clearly it could be easily added into base games without much effort.

Yes. Gamefreak has insecurity issues- it's why the devs behind Colloseum weren't basically in charge of this game. Gamefreak will only rely on others enough to release a game, and maybe pad out a few gimmick minigames. If they do anything more, they can't delude themselves into thinking the game was made by them and thus, pokemon's success is made by them.
