Poison only sucked in gen 1, but that was a meta issue, since poison was one of the only types weak to psychic which was completely dominant. Its a good defensive typing.
Also gen 2 & 3 gave poison nothing but shitmons (except crobat, who was a shitmon in gen 2 because of it's abysmal movepool)
Seriously in gen 2-3 we got crobat, ariados, dustox, swalot, roselia and seviper.
>>48076677Poison doesn't need a lot of buffs honestly but a dedicated recovery move and a new strong physical move would go a long way. If you really felt the need to buff them offensively removing ground's resistance would work.
Also a poison/steel pokemon. My vote is for a garbodor evolution in a trash can. Give it levitate or heat proof if you're feeling spicy.
