>>48078850Back to Round 5.
This round comes down to prediction, which is why I don't like it. Assuming everyone is rocking Protect, it becomes very messy on what hits what. Intimidate messes up Staraptor, but Staraptor is also, coincidentally, better off using Intimidate. Even when Intimidated, it has a 87.5% chance at MINIMUM to OHKO Blaziken with its JollyScarf Intimidate set. However, the benefit is that it no longer dies to Flare Blitz OR Stone Edge.
Garchomp is disappointing, since it no longer OHKOs Blaziken after an Intimidate unless it uses Swords Dance turn 1. However, Salamence, only has to invest a bit in SpA for Draco Meteor to OHKO Chomp. This means Chomp cannot afford to Dance up.
HOWEVER, Staraptor has the wildcard of Tailwind under its wing, so if it Tailwinds up on a good prediction, Garchomp is actually slated to win. Hear me out:
Turn 1
>Blaziken used protect!>Garchomp used protect!>Staraptor used Tailwind! The tailwind blew from behind your team!>Salamence used Draco Meteor! (Staraptor takes 78.4% on a max roll)>Blaziken's speed boost!Turn 2
>Staraptor used Brave Bird! It's super effective! Blaziken fainted!>Staraptor faints from recoil!>Garchomp used Swords Dance! >Salamence used Outrage! It's super effective! (Garchomp takes a maximum of 87.3%)Turn 3
>Garchomp used Outrage! It's super effective! This, I think, is the most likely scenario. Again, protect spamming and mind games mean that both teams have a near coinflip chance of winning just based off of good prediction, but I think it's 55:45 StarChomp:Blazimence
