Soon hopefully. Lots of weird shit coming out about the retro game market in the last few weeks and hopefully the bubble is going to burst. Should help knock almost all prices down at least somewhat.

Gen 2 stuff you can sometimes find loose carts at reasonable prices if you look for "broken" ones unable to hold a save and just replace the CR2025 battery yourself. Super simple solder job takes like 2 minute tops if you have any familiarity with the tools. Got a copy of Gold for $20 off ebay that way to go with my childhood copies of Silver and Crystal.
You're fucked on Complete in Box sale prices though.

What actually makes me mad is not the prices but seeing how retarded normal people used to be as kids all my games are complete in box i knew videogames were expensive since day one, but apparently other kids trew boxes into the garbage and chew on their fucking carts it’s horrible i don’t even know why they try to sell their loose shit

These games literally sold millions. There are copies everywhere. Same thing happened with Base Set Charizard, suddenly everyone and their mother realized they have a box of cards somewhere with a Charizard in it. Once the bubble pops, we're back to normal prices.

Part of that though was normies seeing articles about cards going for thousands of dollars and assuming their shoebox or binder of beat-up commons was a gold mine, very much like comics. "Game sells for 70 dollars" doesn't do it.
