Second, if luck even outs over several matches, then accounting for luck in the Elo system should do the same.
Third, that doesn’t address the issues of “I was playing well and about to win, but this 0.0001% chance of events happened and now I lost, and lost as much Elo as the guy who I was about to beat, would have lost” and “I literally just spam 1 move like a fucking tard, but got all the best rolls you can get, so now I get as much elo as any other person”.
Even if the good player is going to get his Elo back and the bad player will lose that Elo, it’s still a pain in the ass to have your progress on ladder halted because the computer said so.
