>>48098149No. Diamond and Pearl belongs in D tier along with X and Y. Better than KANTOOO, but that's about it. It's slow, especially the surfing, and the pre-National dex Pokemon are extremely limited, so everyone usually ends up with the same team, i.e. Starter, Luxray, Staraptor, Roserade/Floatzel, Garchomp, and Lucario. I tried mixing it up by using Honchkrow/Mismagius and Toxicroak/Drapion in Diamond but you don't get a Dusk Stone to evolve Murkrow/Misdreavus until the Galactic Warehouse while Croagunk and Skorupi are "changing Pokemon" at the Great Marsh which depend on luck and RNG. If you don't find them in the binoculars you have to wait another day. The region itself is also very dull, maybe due to the pastel colors. It's still somewhat dull in Platinum, but it comes across as less "samey" than in Diamond and Pearl. The rehauling of the Battle Zone maps was also a major improvement. With Emerald the main improvement over RS was the expanded postgame with the Battle Frontier replacing the Battle Tower and the aesthetic improvements to the Hoenn map in Emerald (apart from maybe Rusturf Tunnel and Meteor Falls) didn't really matter much and seemed to have been largely a result of Emerald being based on the FRLG engine rather than the RS engine. While the Safari Zone extension in Emerald was good, it seemed like a last minute addition given the existence of Altering Cave. On the other hand, almost all the improvements to Sinnoh in Platinum seemed genuinely necessary. Platinum didn't fix all the problems with Sinnoh, but it did try to fix the most glaring problems, so I'd agree that Platinum can remain in B tier.
