What kind of League is it if you only know Ash and 1-2 more guys and the only fights you get to see are quick scenes of Ash steamrolling nobodies in the preliminaries, one good fight of Ash vs his rival and then one more fight of Ash jobbing to the obligatory character that's just been introduced and his sole purpose in the story is to deny Ash his league victory. Nothing can compete with SM's league. That was the only league that felt like an actual league. All contestants were main characters that we cared about and we got to see every single fight of the tournament. Complete, fulfilling and wholesome. I swear if Galar had a proper anime like in the past, the league would just be Ash beating Hop before losing to some random guy with a Zarude or something. This is the garbage that you've been fed all these years and you've been conditioned to think that's how tournaments are supposed to be like.
