I think some ghostmons aren't literally undead, but rather creatures with gaseous or ectoplasmic bodies. Such creatures may still require sustenance of some kind.

Because ghost Pokémon aren’t actual ghost and are living creatures. The anime had a ghost of a mimikyu for example. Still the dex does mention they feed on souls but I get Pokémon food works too .

No, ghost Pokémon are living creatues, they're born the same as other types. You don't see people claiming Vulpix is literally fire or that Blastoise is made out of water just because they have the type classification.

Ghost Pokemon aren't real ghosts. We've seen real ghosts in the series, and they operate differently from Ghost-type Pokemon.

That's also the reason people in the Pokemon world are afraid of ghosts but not of Ghost type Pokemon.

For the "were alive" Pokemon, becoming Ghost type Pokemon is just another form of a life for them. They can still die again.

Froslass especially shouldn't be there, since it evolves from Snorunt, which certainly isn't dead.
