I couldn't get into Monster Joker / original Monster games because the cool mechanics don't matter if I don't give a crap about the mons.
Same with Yokai Watch I stopped right at the very beginning.
In both cases I was Hyped to play them, reading all the content they had and positive reviews, but once I boot them up... eeehhh.
SMT, Digimon and Pokémon do it right and there's no need to try anything else.
