Progress is change, is learning, is pushing, moving forward from the things you usually do.
That's why we have all this wealth today, because people before us were moved by this concept instead of just getting money and putting them in their pockets and end it there.
Look at all the kings, the rich people who just wanted to be that, they didn't change or help society at all, they just reigned upon it in their times and every epoque was the same.
Then scientists and illuminism came and revolutions also came and society came to indepent form that is today, a place where humans reinvest for change, not for commercial products that only exist in a specific timespan and then they're useless for progress and change.
Everything is useful for humans to progress, everything they do has a meaning and raising money and putting them in your pocket just to have is not only selfish, but you don't reinvest in that progress and you on your little block society and technology from evolving.
