And I don't mean that all new Pokemon are bad and only older ones are good. I mean it seems like we're getting proportionally more ugly and poorly designed Pokemon as the generations go on and the ugly Pokemon are getting uglier. Every generation has its bad or lazy designs and every generation has really good ones that stand out above the rest. But it really feels like we're getting more of these abominations like Obstagoon and Chewtle and less really good looking Pokemon like Aggron or Joltik.
It's most apparent with the starters. Personally I've either hated or not cared about every starter the last two generations. Gen 3 is a struggle to pick my favorite starter, Gen 6 has Chesnaught as pretty meh at best, and Gen 7 forced me to pick Decidueye as the best of a bad bunch.
