Other than tate and liza and maybe wattson emerald really doesn't add anything more difficult to the gyms or doesn't add anything that makes them more difficult than they were in RS. I.e. brawly gets a useless new meditite, Winona still has her dragon dance altaria in both games, etc. Plus Norman is harder in RS and Steven is a stronger champion

You're literally explaining why DP is easier. The AI being dogshit and often just attacking randomly with its already bad movesets is a big reason of why it's easier than Platinum

I find that the level curve of the Elite 4 in DP is pretty unforgiving. It's even tougher than Platinum.

A bit of both, Pokemon movesets have gotten better so some battles like with Morty have become more trivial however certain situations like Whitney’s miltank (I know that’s a meme and all) has cute charm which makes it harder than the og fight as it can potentially fuck over any physical attackers just from them using a contact move.
