I got one, myself. Didn't actually take that long, just one attempt of Prime Cup (unless you mean the time taken total of the playthrough in which case about 3-4 days). Though to be fair I was using a traded back Alakazam with the elemental punches which pretty much trivialized the game

No, you can use whatever you want IIRC. If anything it's the opposite as the only real required team is a imported one from Pokemon Yellow that uses the Pikachu from it on every team of three for R2 Master Ball Prime Cup
