Removing whole evolutionary lines from the original dex to make room for gen-4 mons is so contrary to the idea of Polished Crystal being some sort of definitive version of vanilla, the concept falls apart, especially when it's done so arbitrarily. It doesn't even make sense, like, sure, replace shitmons to make room for gen-4 evos, but why the fuck would you then outright get rid of Lickitung and Aipom then? Or getting rid of only *some* baby Pokemon, just to make room for fucking Munchlax?
The hack attempts to solidify Johto's character through touched-up visuals and improved QoL, but just abandons mons that are iconic to the GSC legacy like the Hoppip line, Shuckle, Aipom, Stantler, Delibird, etc. I know I'm crying about shitmons here, but damn man I really want to like Polished Crystal because it excels so much, but it just misses the point so badly.
