>>48127390If the next region is based on China, I figure the next gimmick will be something similar to z-moves, but with martial arts themes or "spirit forms" where a Pokemon attacks with the full might of its spirit like some JoJo stand.
If the next region is set in Australia, I figure the next gimmick should be a "berserker mode" kinda similar to the red-eyed savage pokemon we see in Arceus, where a pokemon grows bigger and darker with mean eyes but is in a constant state of swagger.
But knowing trends and gimmicks, its probably going to be Fusions between pokemon or pokemon and their trainers. And if not that, then something like "nature forms" where a pokemon is surrounded by armor made from a specific element they're compatible with. Or maybe just pokemon taking on humanoid forms as the new Mega Evolution under a new name.
Whatever the next gimmick is, it will quickly be dropped and forgotten about when the next gen comes along.
