Not an excuse to make it unusable, which is the point of the whole game - that everything you see you can capture and use too. All they had to do was give it Constrict. Constrict is only 10 base power, Tackle is 35. You could give Onix Constrict, boost its Attack stat by 40-60, and maybe boost its HP by 10 and its Speed by 10, and you’d have a decent Pokémon.

this shit happened to me. It passed level 10 midfight and i spent the next 15+ minutes mashing A hoping it wouldn't be confused/fall asleep/would actually hit through -6 accuracy. Doesn't even get Rock Throw until level 15 or something. The stupid obedience limit doesn't even go up until after Bugsy so it's worthless there too. Rocky's completely worthless.

I beat him with just a level 10 charmander. No grinding whatsoever, just beat the the rival battle in oaks lab and the 3 bug catchers, didn't even need to beat the gym trainer or the optional rival battle, or ANY wild pokemon

*FIRE Red is what you played then. The remake that gave Charmander an SE move specifically for Brock because Char users are all retards and too many of them got filtered by Brock in the original games

Its a romhack my zoomer dude.

However in RB you can indeed just ember Onix to death if you're at level 15, more so if you have Charmeleon Onix' Special stat is also a joke so Ember cuts right through him more than scratch.
