I finished the game in just two days, the game is really too easy, also thanks to the sharing experience to all Pokémon, the game is really too easy and boring.

The Gym leaders are actually decently challenging, what's easy is the fact that the game constantly gives you free heals and items and money are both extraordinarily plentiful. The game COULD have been fairly tough but they just HAD to coddle the shit out of the player

There's barely any fucking battles, I forget the exact number but I counted out all the battles in most of the pokemon games a while back and most had like 300+ while SwSh BARELY even reaches 100, and that's including the Hop battles

I think the problem is less the heals and more that modern Pokemon games literally let you have anything you want from the very first town with an insanely "good" selection of types and movesets. Gamefreak forgot to make monsters that "suck early on" like we had back in the day and limiting choices properly. The fucking Wild Area allows you to capture some very good stuff before you first gym.

Even if you don't catch good things the shit that you do catch will have decent STAB moves and what not super quick. Current Pokemons just flat out don't think of how it'll be in a single player experience.

Nah Gens 2-5 you at least had to raise your team in a balanced way and use some strategy/items for boss battles. You wouldn't really become overleveled unless you went out of your way to grind. I wouldn't call them super difficult (these are games for kids, after all), but they were still reasonably challenging and required you to think. The only reason I didn't include Gen 1 in that is because technically you can just solo through the entire game with your Mt. Moon Nidoking, but even then you have to know what you're doing and use items. Gen 6 started the exp share cancer, and LGPE started making simply catching wild Pokemon equivalent to grinding. SWSH would have been a lot better if the wild area was locked behind several gym badges. It's poor game design to give you this vast open area where you can catch dozens of species of Pokemon right at the beginning of the game. The main quest is never going to be a challenge when you can pretty much catch your endgame team and mindlessly grind them up 10-20 levels above the gym leaders before your first badge. Newer games are also focusing much more on the PvP aspect, so Pokemon are getting lots of powerful moves just by leveling up that would have previously been relegated to TMs and breeding only. This makes battling NPCs much easier as well. I have a feeling this is by design so compfags can just brute force through the main quest in a couple of hours to get to online mode, but it ruins the game for everyone else.

tl;dr every game since Gen 6 has been babby-tier difficulty and borderline unplayable unless you actually like "click A to win" extended cutscenes.

You’re a retard. The best strategy in every single one of those games is just mash super effective moves with one Pokemon (probably your starter) and end up at lv70+ by the end of the game. There’s literally zero point to raising a balanced team.

You really think every starter can learn moves that will be super effective against everything in the game? That only works with things like Nidoking that can learn Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earthquake, etc. I guess water starters that have access to Ice moves and Earthquake can do it, but winding up level 70 by the end of the game using one Pokemon is better than winding up with a team of level 70s by your fifth badge in LGPE because you actually tried to catch every Pokemon to complete your Pokedex. I've been replaying Silver recently, and I only have one Pokemon above level 40 after getting four Kanto badges just by playing the game normally without grinding or trying to solo it with Feraligatr.

Yes Gen 5 is newer lmao the difficulty of Pokemon has been steadily declining since going from Gen 2 to Gen 3.

XY, LGPE, and SWSH are the easiest games in the franchise. Honorable mention goes to SM if you catch the Route 3 SOS Salamence.

Movepools weren't necessarily shit in the early gens. They were designed as RPGs where Pokemon start off weak, but become stronger over time. You also had to actually use TMs for a lot of Pokemon to be good.

Yeah, IMO the exp share had a lot less to do with making Gen 6->on easy compared to the enormous selection of pokemon.

In every game since I've had pretty close to exactly the team I want by halfway through.

I think ORAS handled it best, there were still a couple fights that could kick your ass (Looking at you Route 110 May) but limiting the non-hoenn pokemon to postgame was the best of both worlds.

I mean it actually has a lower selection of pokemon pre-Mawburg than Emerald did, since you don't get to go into the pokemon part of Rock Cave without a bike.

Yes, we all know little kids will just teach their overleveled Charizards four fire attacks, and use them to brute force their way through the games. Bosses like the E4 and Red were supposed to punish players for doing that, but little kids would just use box legends to beat the them anyway. The whole reason why the newer games started forcing exp share on the player is so little kids could keep spamming their starter while leveling up five other mons in the background so they wouldn't get stuck whenever they reached a boss that was strong against their starter.

E4+champion is five battles in a row with no Pokemon Center to heal and restore PP. Red has a variety of different types of Pokemon in the 70s-80s, which would be way above a player's Pokemon unless they did lots of grinding.

Then you should also know that potions and revives don't restore PP, which is what makes the E4 hard. You can't just spam Earthquake or some other power move from one Pokemon unless you saved all the elixirs you found in the game.
