"Soulful" means full of Johto. The more Johto it is the more Soul something has.
Alola has a Johto island, so it's very soulful.

i dunno. Hau being completely worthless as a rival and the 'tweest' being that you get an elite 4 and champion battle anyway kinda weakens it. i also feel it has a relatively weak variety of pokemon. but being able to EV train a pokemon fully in 2 days without doing anything is great as well.

He has good character development and a good team. He's easily the best rival in the series since gen 2.
