More like they can't revisit Sabrina because her episodes are fucking weird and the more one thinks about it the less they fit in with the setting even in the first season alone, she shouldn't have gotten away with all that weird stuff while being a gym leader.

Anon, how on earth would they have stopped her if anyone did care? She's a powerful trainer with bizarre and powerful abilities. It wasn't mandatory to do her gym to progress through the League either, which makes it less pressing to risk anything over dealing with it.

I mean, we have Dark type Pokemon now, but we didn't back then.
