the reason why the "modern" pokemon community hates the DS era of games is because around that time the majority of oldfags left the series
They felt pokemon was "childish" and "dumb", everyone around them sold their cards, games and plushies for pennies because "i don't want some kid's merchandise in my life", but when pokemon reignited in pop culture they quickly jumped back because "now it is not cringe to like pokemon, even politicians play pokemon now"
Just to realize the series had its golden age and they weren't part of it. They know they were wrong, they know they became the same people who shitted on the franchise for years until it was trendy again
