Heracross' movepool is bad in Gen 2, where its only fighting moves are Counter and Reversal (lol) and the pathetically weak Rock Smash.

Its gen 4 movepool on the other hand is great (arguably too good given how broken Close Combat is) and if you believe otherwise you're legitimately retarded.

Most Johto Pokémon are like that, Game Freak but intentionally made their movepools unusable to make Kanto look better. At least Heracross gets TMs. Many Johto Pokemon don’t even get that.

He's based. I'm using him on my Silver team right now. People who say he has a shit movepool are too brainlet to comprehend that he was designed as an RPG bug mon that you have to raise for a long time before he gets one of the best moves in the game (exclusive to him in GSC). Before that you just spam Horn Attack/Return off his 125 base attack. He also gets EQ.

Heracross doesn't get Megahorn in GSC until 54 and by that point there's barely anything to use it on anyways, the only trainers in the entire game with Pokemon at that level are Blue and Red. If you just want to sweep through level 40 teams with an overleveled Pokemon you could do that with just about anything.

Heracross is shit for the ingame of GSC.
