Let's not pretend that Zelda wasn't also limited by its hardware.
Just imagine how good Breath of the Wild could've looked if Nintendo stopped being so greedy and made the Switch actually able to compete against modern games instead of roughly stagnating at the same level as home consoles that came out literally 15 years ago.

The difference is that a modern console can easily run both cartoon and realistic graphics so it's up to the developers to implement their ideal vision of the game.
With the Switch, the artistic vision of the game has to comply with the crappy hardware, ultimately forcing the developers to build their game in a way that further away from the original vision.

If LA was released on PS4, the only difference would be 60fps, more shadows and a brighter light source. Characters would still 180 when they walk away, the polygonal corners on their fingers would still be present, and there'd be more grass but it's the 2D kind that gives the illusion of lushness

But even if we disregard graphics, SwSh was lackluster in gameplay, story and the amount of stuff to do postgame. and im not even counting "short postgame story" in it. You literally had nothing but play Battle tower once in every mode and then do raids all day long. Personal shit like shinyhunting or breeding isnt regarded in that. the second DLC made it at least a bit bearable with the Dens, but it was still badly executed.
