I like the regional dex, new mons and music but the story barely exists, and from the Badlands onwards the game feels like it drags

if someone could mode the game to fix the story and maybe add in the mons from the newer gens then that game would be genuinely good.

as it is X and Y are sub-par

Personally I really liked xy. The story was dumb, the side characters were annoying, and there was a giant for some reason at the end, but that’s not really why I play Pokémon games. I thought the map was the prettiest it’s ever been at the time. I liked all of the customization options, which for some reason still haven’t been matched today. I like the classic 8 gyms and an elite 4, and I liked all of the Pokémon being available. The battle Chateau was fun and the ease of EV training and IV breeding made for a smooth experience. Top 3 game in my opinion.

The only good thing I can safely say about XY is that they kept many of BW's improvements. Both games on either side of them are better.
