What's stopping Gamefreak from making enhanced clone versions of these game-exclusive characters? it would add a small incentive to buying a game by having the ability to transfer them and end up ranked in high smogon tiers.

Yeah, but Curse Arceus was a safeguard against hacks, due to Curse's ???-Typing. They changed it in Gen V, so didn't need the safeguard any longer, as there was no ???-type any longer.

What really makes me mad is that the totem that can go to home become normal pokemon there and in sword and shield like come on they got all the pumpkaboo sizes im home literally just do the same for the totems and call it a day is not that hard

I agree. They really should've had Oak give you a spare if you revisit the lab after transferring it. Pikachu and Eevee aren't exactly rare enough for this to be considered an exploit.
