Just give Emerald the split and I would say it's post game makes it better then ORAS, that used to be where all the real fun began.
the Problem is that it was a faithful remake of RS, but Emerald.
HGSS was a remake of GSC and kept most of the extra Crystal content, except for pokemon it matched up more with GS because they split them again.
I wouldn't say ORAs is bad though just because it had decent foundation, but they should done more, mainly with all the water you swim through but not much else in the water other then 1 sunken boat, they should have had more of those in the under water and the extra areas you dive up to should have had encounters with rare pokemon and such.
It took some liberties, but not enough, while also staying to faithful in some areas.
I do like that sharpedo is fastest and kyogre is fat, to bad he cuts you off from some areas because of said fat.
