It's during the Hoenn series. I had to stop watching in English and find subbed versions of the Japanese version. The new voice actor for James and Meowth is so fucking terrible it's insane, and that fat fuck was partially responsible for getting the other voice actors fired. Such a fucking mess.

It's actually still drawn on paper in many studios, it then gets scanned and drawn over digitally. Though this is mostly for keyframes, inbetweens are made 100% digitally iirc.

It was technically in Kanto since the Battle Frontier in the anime is set in Kanto. Ash returned to Pallet Town in The Scheme Team. Fear Factor Phony was the first episode dubbed by the TPCi cast (unless you count Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon, which was a special, not an episode).

In one of the lastest episodes a Kecleon stole data from a computer and Ash started searching for it on the floor, and a lot of people disliked this because Ash used computers and traveled with people like Sophocles or the Rotom-Dex who used this term regularly

Yeah it was at the start of, or very early in the Battle Frontier series when Pokémon USA replaced 4kids as the localizers. I think 4kids wanted to much money to dub it, and they sold off their stake in the Pokémon brand for a paltry amount of money. After late 1990’s Pokemania died down, people thought Pokémon wasn’t going to be profitable anymore.

It was special since the writers and animators had more freedom before Pokémon became corporatized after the Gen 2 era. The original series up to the end of Master Quest was mostly written by Takeshi Shudo (novelist and anime scriptwriter who was one of the writers behind the original Legend of the Galactic Heroes OVA) so it felt consistent, even if some episodes and plotlines were weird or not that great. Advanced was the first series written by The Pokémon Company as a corporate entity after Shudo left the franchise.

Shudo was the writer for the first three movies too. He stopped after the third movie as he was upset that they showed Molly's mother in the credits of the film. His reasoning was that Molly was supposed to have been orphaned and wouldn't have stolen Delia if her mother were still alive. Shudo was also upset that they made Lugia masculine in the second movie when he imagined him as a maternal figure.
