>>48188650>Pokemon has some YKW inspired things now and it very much changed the direction of the SM anime and beyond, based on their local success I can't really tell just how much gen 7 got influenced because I've never played that game but I honestly don't think is a big of a deal as you make it out to be, game-wise
The anime did change pretty dramatically but, in my opinion, for the better.
It was a lot more character driven and not as much battle centered apart from the champion's league at the end.
I don't really care where they got that inspiration but the anime is more enjoyable now for me I can say that much.
Also I'm not really on board with this "yo kai wannabe" thing because the humor was VERY japanese, too much, in themes and execution, at least that's the one thing I remember about the YKW anime.
