We are beyond 90s GameBoy coding. A single move can be specifically coded to have special matchups (Flying Press Freeze Dry).

The main issue is that (You) thought of an ATTACK type and equated that to mean that it can also be a complete type.

Most move in real life would be neutral, hence they don't make sense as a type.
Wind is neutral...
Light is neutral...
Sound is mostly neutral...
Sand is neutral...
For a type to exist it must describe a completely different SPECIES, not an ATTACK.
Fairy serves its purpose almost fine, but light wouldn't add anything.
If you are designing a new game, then I suggest that you split SPECIES types(plants, bugs, beasts, fae) from attack types(light, sound, poison, heat)
