It was rushed but fun since there was a lot of variety with the pokemon, the new ones were good, and the music and characters were good too. Plot and looks are fucked though

Good on what basis? The characters have very little depth even for Pokemon;s standards, and the story is nonexistent by Pokemon standards as well.

Pokemon games are always fun. it just wasnt 60$ fun. For 30$ I would say they are good games. For 60$ They should have HOME build in, PoGo connection like LGPE had, and all mons. It's also one of the shortest Pokemon game. Without rushing I beat it in 40h...

now that they’ve been out for three years, and i haven’t touched the “story” in that long, i can’t say i absolutely hate them. they’re good games when it’s just about collecting and training the pokémon themselves, like this is the first generation that i even went out of my way to farm a shiny. however, they still suffer terribly from cutting a not insignificant amount of pokémon completely. i’d say a rough 3/5 being closer to a 2/5 than a 4/5 in the end

If they base games wild area was the same quality as the dlc it would have been a good game. But instead it felt like it was slapped together in a day and that was supposed to be the bulk of the content.

I thought the game was just okay, and that's a problem. It was underwhelming for the first main line console pokemon game, it just felt like I was playing a 3DS era pokemon. I remain convinced that Pokemon will never be good again unless they let go of their old guard who were GREAT in the 2D era but have no idea how to adapt to modern 3D game development. And they also need to get rid of whoever the fuck is insisting Pokemon remaining as retard proof as possible.
