I asked this in another thread, didn't get an answer but something piqued my interest lately when I realized I have access to some old hardware in one way or another. Only reason I'm asking here first instead of trying it myself is because I don't have any GBA Pokemon games in my possession right now.

What I do have is a Gamecube controller adapter for PC which I use to play games on Dolphin with, which includes Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness. I also have a the link cable and my old GBA SP in working condition at my parents' house which I could go pick up the next time I visit. Hypothetically speaking, if I were to acquire carts for RSE or FRLG, could I connect them to an emulated copy of Colosseum and trade Pokemon to and from there with no issues? I wasn't able to find anything on google about it so I'm not sure if anyone tried this before.

Main reason I'm asking is because I finished Gold again recently but this time on the virtual console, so there was no way to play Stadium 2 with it, which I think kills a good portion of the Gen II experience. I'm wondering if I were to start a Gen III game I could at least connect through this way to take my mons into a Stadium like experience and recapture that somewhat. Not to mention migrating all my Orre Pokemon over to Home would be nice.
