This is what Game Freak considers cool/shill-worthy.
Notice how all box legendaries and shillmons are one of the top 7 "cool" types. Starters' secondary typings as of late will always be one of the cool types, you'll never ever see a Grass type starter become part Bug for example.
Hell, Flying is considered so lame that Rowlet straight up becomes Grass/Ghost instead.

Even if a legendary or shillmon is a primary "lame" type it'll always be part cool-type to make up for it. It took FIVE whole generations to get a Bug legendary, and even then it had to be made part Steel to be cool.

You can see certain types get favored over others in the order of the list.

Another example going as far back as Gen 2, is that there's literally a Game Freak interview in which they say Lugia wasn't made Water/Flying despite being the god of the sea in lore and all that, because Psychic gave the impression of being more powerful and thus more fitting for a legendary.

Poison was definitely lame pre-Gen 6, but now it's cool again since it's a Fairy killer.
Poison gets its fair share of shilling now, and is roughly mid-tier as opposed to bottom.

I agree with Psychic, it's a symbol of power, and that's why lugia didn't have a water typing, along with how broken it was in gen 1.
Bugs are great but they were slept on, so no matter how cool they looked they sucked until gen 5 started making them less of a joke.
I love bug type, but it did suck and it was lame for that, although some probably see as lame just for them being bugs.
I hope we get more bug legendries.

Really faggots? Psychic is easily the most forced type specially in legendaries. Try this. Pick any psychic mon and try to explain why it's psychic. 75% of the time, you can't. Most expanations are mind powers and feelings gay shit.
