happens with a lot of pokemon, especially recent ones

incineroar, toucannon, corviknight, grimmsnarl, and hatterene all become slower compared to their second stage. Also vikavolt is faster than its second stage but 3 speed slower than its fucking first stage.

They gave it steam engine. Which is broken in doubles. Buuuut, imho I don't think any part of the design is good, like I said I hate this thing, but yeah it would've been fun if they kept up with the theme and gave it at least moderate speed.

Like I said, the design is dog shit. Maybe it tucks it's feet up and it's legs/thighs convert to wheels? Or maybe it's implied the coal gets burned off its back and reduces it's weight? I really don't know though, I hate this thing.

There was some anon's idea of it becoming a diamond motorbike that would have been rock/fairy I think. i liked that idea a lot too, but the train just seemed so logical.

Honestly most of Gen 8's designs are lacking the usual polish. They're not clever, they're just boring or 'lol meme funny'

Feels wrong to me that rolicoly is slower than carkoal, they should be at least the same speed and turn slower on the final form like poliwag/poliwhirl in relation to poliwrath/politoed.
