Don't worry, I'm sure they'll add something last minute like they did with overworld encounters in SWSH which somehow ended up being even worse than LGPE.

Overworld encounters are so fucking bad in Pokemon.
It works in games like SMT because you can fight large groups of powerful enemies in a single encounter.
The encounters just aren’t threatening enough to justify them being on the overworld.

overworld encounters were precisely one of the things I enjoyed the most in SWSH.
it made the game a lot more fun, less grindy, more dynamic and it's been the only game in which I have completed the pokédex, even the DLC ones, thanks to this very feature
