This guy was such a fantastic concept
WHY did they fuck it up
WHY not make it a fighting type
WHY design the final evolution after a completely different animal than the first two

Dewott and Samurott itself should definitely have been Fighting type like in those Drayano hacks. It's so much better and fun to use. I don't even mind Samurott's design, but as a mono water with sus stat distribution the design on it's own doesn't stand out.

So were those Musketeer deer, and Samurott looks more like an actual Fighting type/warrior than they do, especially Keldeo.

Gamefreak fuck up and most here know it, it's a shame because fixing this line also fixes Emboar.

Except before Samurott was made, they already worked on many otter designs and weren't pleased with them.

I don't mind though, a sea lion with an otter theme is more unique than just a cartoon otter

The problem was never Samurott or Oshawott
The problem was always Dewott being an ugly fuck that didn't attempt to be a transition

While Samurott could use another type or bigger moveset it's design is great. People hope the legend starters are replaced by regional forms but I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. Personally I prefer they would be used for gameplay purposes like riding than to be obsoleted by regional variants but guess we'll wait and see.
