Not related to anything in the thread, but who in their right mind would teach a physical move to an ampharos let alone thunder punch? Like seriously, compared to thunderbolt it both has 15 less power and uses ampharos's weaker attacking stat of physical attack rather than special attack.

You seem to miss the point that the frontier is meant to encourage competitive strategies in game in a variety of different facilities.

The problem with modern gamefreak is that they think the QOL improvements and standard battle tower is all they need for basic online. They seem to forget that some people don’t care about online and would rather be given options in the single player, which the battle frontier provided with multiple often gimmicky ways that felt refreshing.

Which isn't fun when it's in a game that has dogshit breeding, dogshit EV training, forces you to repeat 21 piss easy battles every time you lose, and is still worse than just playing online anyway since the AI is extremely easy to predict and every battle is just going through the same flowchart.

also most of Platinum's battle facilities are shit and two of them are just repeats of the Battle Tower but with gimmicks that make it easier.

They were outdated when the game released because they're mediocre games where the developers didn't think hard enough about how fucking terrible building an actual team is.

BDSP not having ranked battles is a good incentive to bring the battle frontier back but the map unfortunately only shows the standard battle tower.
Of course they can always lie, Platinum’s map wasn’t as detailed as DP’s but I double modern would do the same
