It was the game that brought me into pokemon. No, it wasn't the first game i played, before it i tried and quickly dropped Soul Silver, Platinum and BW. I almost gave up on the franchise at that point.
The core games gameplay were a bit weird for me, and i really didn't like the bobblehead humans of 2D era. XY was already out, but didn't work on emulators yet and i didn't have the console, so to escape fucking bobblehead graphics i decided to try a game without humans.
Pokemon test returned me a chimchar to my disappointment, back then i disliked monkeys (later infernape line will become one of my favs), the first dialogue was cute, and then dungeon started and i lost myself in this wonderful game for days.
The characters, plot, music and the pace of the story, everything is great about that game. I also really like the gameplay, i always wanted some rogue-like-like game, without the hardcore of true rogue-like.
The mainquest ending was... You know what it was if you played the game, i don't need to say anything.
After that i got motivation to try core games again, and finally found the way i could enjoy them. So, thanks to PMD, here i am, on /vp/.
