I also remember the Run toggle button in HGSS. Gee, if only the bottom screen in gen 5 improved on this and added more toggle-able buttons for the map, running, the bike, item finder, etc. Instead GF opted to take a step backwards and let the C-gear effectively neuter the use of bottom screen for the entirety of gen 5.
