I don’t understand, what’s bad about this? TCGO could absolutely use a makeover, and being able to play on mobile is a great change. As long as it doesn’t get rid of your cards from the old version of the online tcg this seems good.

Yeah and the meta revolves around powering your beatstick to kill the opponent's. It's the most caveman TCG I've ever seen. Even UNO requires more skill.

Only cards being cut during transfer of TCGO to Live are the HGSS series. My concern is person to person trading. I'm actually a little excited about being able to possibly straight up buy singles from the main store to quickly build competitive decks in new formats though.
I wonder if this is TPCi trying to get a system in place to replace in person events entirely or at least cut down on cheating in the TCG scene.

It is. It just isn't easy to play on tablets. Kind of annoying, maybe this time they've actually put effort into working with smaller screens. I'm amazed they didn't announce a Switch version of the app too. Seems like the obvious thing to do.

Why the fuck won't TPCi just simply hire Sugimori or the pokeani character designers to do designs for the TCG Online Clients? Why do we constantly have to put up with ugly shit that doesn't match the Pokemon aesthetic at all? First we got that 6teen-esque style, now we have that disgusting 3d shit from the same people who did the Post Malone MV.

Hell, when Niantic chose Fire Emblem / No More Heroes artist Kozaki Yusuke for Pokemon GO, he was able to replicate that magic of Pokémon without Sugimori's artstyle.
