>>48251277>why isn’t the ONI a Fairy TypeIt’s not a fairy
It’s not a mythical nature god
It’s not a mischievous trickster or prankster
It’s basically just a fuzzy electric orc
Grimmsnarl has a similar aesthetic, but is IS explicitly based on Fairy creatures (fairy tale goblins and trolls, common creatures in such stories), it’s line does have a relationship with nature (Morgrem can even help crops grow), and all of the members of the line are mischievous dicks who literally feed on people’s frustrations. Also the whole theme of magical hair being very important to European Folklore. Plus their abilities are Prankster, Pickpocket, and Frisk (they’re basically always trying to mug you) and the line’s two exclusive moves are based on begging for mercy before stabbing you in the back and demoralising the enemy so that they can’t fight back as effectively.
My Favorite of the three is Morgrem by a bakers mile, though, since it most perfectly encapsulates the line’s two types.
>B-but Snubull! It’s species is the fairy Pokémon, its in the fairy egg group, it’s based on European Bulldogs, and yes anon, it is (very loosely) based on the Cu-Sith. Keep in mind, Cu-Situ literally just means ‘fairy dog’, and in some media they are indeed shown as Bulldogs (such as some final fantasy titles).
Now, is Snubull or Granbull a GOOD Cu-Sith Pokemon? No, they squander the potential. Your issue, anon, is that you seem to be unable to separate concept and inspiration from execution. Dedenne is only fairy type because the tooth fairy is a mouse in France. Seems like it could be interesting, but it too is wasted potential and it does nothing to capitalise on the idea, just continuing to try and be weakass pikashit.
As I said, GF had issues with the type in gen 6, but they really found their footing in gen 7 in regards to it’s identity: regional folklore, fairy tales, and nature spirits.
Not all myths are fairy tales anon.
So not all mon are fairies.
