Yes. She’s the best mommy. Her husband wasn’t man enough to give her more children. I would have kept her knocked up until she couldn’t have any more babies. I would be a bad father, because I’d spend all my time fucking Melony and putting more babies in her instead of taking care of the kids. I’d also force her to stay in bed and have sex when she needs to take care of our 10 children.

The way special portrays it, she was an overly controlling and pushy type who wouldn't loosen the apron strings a little and let Gordie make any decisions for himself which just made him rebel harder. She learned from the mistake she made with him and isn't as controlling with her younger kids though
The games rarely elaborate much on character backgrounds so I doubt a "canon" explanation was ever really thought through for the games themselves

It's not even intended to criticize Special so much as stress how you shouldn't take what it does with the characters as canon to the games (or anime for that matter.)

I don’t think that necessarily makes her a bad mother, she was obviously very caring and just did what she genuinely thought was best for her son. She made a mistake, and is trying to fix it. Bad mothers would double down on their mistakes, or refuse to acknowledge that they did anything wrong. Parenting is a learning experience, good parents grow throughout it.

I only stopped at 10 because she she reached her biological limit! I would have kept going forever if it were physically possible! On the bright side, we are constantly having sex now that we know pregnancy won’t be an issue anymore, and some of the kids are old enough to help take care of the younger children while we are locked in our room and she’s sitting on my face.
