Most species don't evolve into a bug, bugs are considered a low tier species.

I've said this a few times in type combo threads, but a Normal type goat evolving into a Normal/Bug Goat/Spider hybrid would be a nice reference to goats that are genetically spliced with spider DNA to produce a web-like substance from their udders

Honestly I love Parasect's design and wish there was ANY fucking way to pour enough love into the mon to make him usable for exactly this reason. The idea of a brain parasite bug mon that takes over its host in the final form and gives it the bug type would be so fucking cool.

A dog that gets fleas on evolution
A fish controlled by a parasite

Those are the ones I've seen for non-bug -> bug at least

Because the only obvious way to do this would be referencing The Fly and making a pokemon that turns part bug when traded for a bug type. Like a Shelmet/Karrablast thing

Speaking of, I've always been disappointed in steelant. They really should have done a double evolution for males and females like where one becomes a warrior and the other a queen like they kind of did with combee.

Steelant is fine. It just sucks that it's the only ant Pokemon. There are HUNDREDS of things you can do with ants, but we just got one that digs.

It's similar to how there are loads of types of parrots, but they made Chatot and don't seem to feel like revisiting the idea.

Nothing to add to your question but it did get me thinking about that one story by Franz Kafka, The Metamorphosis.

A Normal type that evolves into a Bug type after leveling up while asleep would be a bizarre and unasked for addition, but now my caffeinated brain can’t stop thinking about it.
