>>48261448I'm schizotypal rather than schizophrenic but I have had abnormal sensory experiences in the past. They were more like dreams I couldn't wake up from while being awake than synesthesia, though sometimes I'd get hit by colors and sounds and shapes I couldn't describe as "colors" or "sounds" or "shapes" in the conventional sense. I knew that they were in fact colors and sounds and shapes, but they were off or wrong in some way or another that made them difficult to describe.
I had a reoccurring dream as a young child about groups of malevolent black spheres that would expand and contract but even when they were contracted they were still expanded. That's sort of how the later sensory experiences were. Lots of things that I could perceive existing in simultaneous contradictory states that made sense to me but I had trouble putting into words. To tell the truth though I think this stuff only happened because I willed it to, I don't think I ever had any involuntary hallucinations or anything like that
