Natures are the biggest cancer to ever infect the franchise. You can't just catch a Pokemon and add it to your team anymore when there's a chance its speed or attack could be reduced by 20% because of this shit.

It’s so kids can see that they’re Pokémon with a slightly higher attack is “brave” and go “wow, cool” and then move on. It’s for flavour. It’s why the games are so pants shittingly hard that they require such autism, you aren’t meant to be autistic about it

Making two of the same pokemon at the same level have slightly different stats through nature, IVs and EVs is all for the purpose of making pokemon feel like individuals.

No, they add character to Pokemon. Now you may have to work around a Pokémon having they’re best stat lower than most of their others, snd that makes the process of using the same Pokémon more than once different. The only reason anyone has an issue with it is because in competitive everything needs to be perfect because everyone else’s Pokémon will be. But that’s a retarded ass reason to remove them all together from the main campaign, if anything they just need to bite the bullet and separate these 2 aspects of the games completely

Wrong right off the bat on the first sentence. As far as kids on cart runs go they'll only memorize Adamant and Modest, or ignore the mechanic entirely.
Nature is a good addition to Pokemon games, offer depth for those who ate seeking depth but doesn't hamper progress if you decide to not bother with it.

Pokemon are 1s and 0s in a game. The natures don't actually affect how they behave in the petting mode or amie or whatever it's called.

Why are there 5 neutral natures? Is it to skew the odds away from getting a nature decreasing a good stat? Neutral natures aren't really used in any competitive setting.

my hunch is that the Gen 3 devs were really trying to push PokeBlock flavors and Pokemon Contests, as an alternative to traditional Pokemon battles. so they wanted one neutral nature for each flavor.

The biggest bullshit was Natures influencing your Pokemon in the Battle Palace, but you'd only find out from a little girl who vaguely talks about it and is in a nearby, unremarkable, building so you might miss her entirely. Thankfully its garbage didn't reappear in ORAS, or people might've noticed, since a lot of "fans" only ever played 10 minutes of the Factory and then restarted the game. As in, me.

At least natures open build variety, like a Jolly Garchomp being able to outspeed an Adamant one in a mirror.

the only ones that matter are Jolly, Timid, Modest and Adamant. You only need to remember 4. Just euthanize any pokemon that isn't one of those, or is the wrong one for their speicies.
