>>48280150>bosses who have access to moves, items and Pokemon unavailable to youThis is called difficulty, anon. Lessening player advantages and increasing enemy advantages. Reborn isn't even particularly egregious and I'm not sure where "you can only use one Pokemon to beat a boss" comes from, not being able to barrel through entire gyms with one Pokemon and forcing you to sit back and consider options is kind of the point.
Before the third gym in Reborn you can get Vespiquen, Galvantula, Ampharos, Arcanine, Skuntank, Swalot, Hariyama, Ludicolo, Nidoking, Bewear, Talonflame, Bronzong and Blissey, as well as an egg that hatches into one of 18 incredibly strong mons or mons that will become strong later, like Volcarona or Starmie. And that's not even all of them.
>The game also employs level caps which in itself is a very artificial way of creating difficultyHow is it artificial difficulty? It's again removing the player from brainlessly clearing every obstacle by just overlevelling. The developer wanting you to explore their game to overcome a problem isn't "artificial difficulty".
And the level caps are extremely forgiving besides, the first gym for instance has mons ranging from levels 12-15 but the level cap is 20.
