At this point pokemom has become a.self sustaining brand anyway, why rock the boat taking unnecessary risks when the anime (and hell most aspects really) will make millions of $/€/£/¥ without much effort?
There's genuinely just no point, from a business perspective mind you, to do.l anything more than is necessary.
Would an anime based on the manga do well and be more popular? Among older fans sure, but kids unironically love the lighthearted anime and you even have a sizeable subset of autists who still watch as adults.
Plus given how globalised the series is, the culturally inoffensive anime is better than the much more Japanese influenced manga (or at least the earlier arcs anyway)
