Sinnoh Pokemon aren't slow, I think he was joking about how the region as a whole is such a slog, from the surfing speed to the snow to the marsh. The fastest glitchless speedrun of DP is 3:41:46, which I think is higher than for any other Pokemon game.

Actually I was wrong. I checked and Gen 7 is the slowest there too. The worst is USUM, followed by SM, then SwSh w/ DLC, and then DP. I guess it's because RNG manipulation is more difficult and because all the cutscenes in Gen 7 add over an hour to the total time.

Kanto is the fastest because in the first gen Speed affected crit chance. The mons were designed with that factor in mind so the average is higher
