Furthermore, crits only apply to a really small number of the cast, the vast majority of moves/ults cannot deal crtis, so Scope Lens is useful almost exclusively on Absol, who is bottom 5 worst Pokemon, and Crustle, who doesn't need it because he'll barely be fighting at all.
The big 4 items in this game all don't need to be higher than lv.20, in fact leveing some of them to 30 is a huge waste. because the lv.30 bonuses are so miniscule they're not worth talking about as soon as the match actually gets to having team fights. The meta items in this game consistently cap at 20 and its very easy to hit item lv.20 on a ton of items through just playing normally.
tl;dr if you get completely sauced, the other player isn't some super whale, you just lost.
