Recently this board has seen an influx of aggressive posting for and against gen II within the past few months. While such discussions have always existed here, we are witnessing yet another uptick regarding the quality of this generation. For the longest time, GSC have been seen as legendary games by both hardcore and casual pokemon fans. In a list of best gens and games, its guaranteed that GSC will be in the top 3. It occupies a similar space with Terminator 2, Zeta Gundam, Super Mario Bros 3 and Halo 2 as that perfect sequel that improved upon literally everything and is the standard that all later entries are compared to. Perhaps in the future Gold and Silver will be evaluated with a critical eye by the masses like Gen 1 has and will no longer be treated as the sacred cow by both older and newer fans. So what are your thoughts on gen II in 2021? No genwars, trolling or other faggotry. In my opinion? I'd say these games aged fairly well. Of course, the usual flaws like the fucked level curve and annoying distribution exist and yeah it lacks some important QoL improvements but as a whole there is very little GSC do badly, no glaring flaws so to speak. its adequate at worst and great at its best.
